House plan

house plan is a set of construction or working drawings (sometimes called blueprints) that define all the construction specifications of a residential house such as the dimensions, materials, layouts, installation methods and techniques.

Drawing Set

The principal information provided in a set of blueprint drawings are as follows:

Site plans are drawn to show the location of a home on the property in its context. It is an overhead view of the construction site and the home as it sits about the boundaries of the lot. Site plans should outline the location of utility services, setback requirements, and easements, location of driveways and walkways, and sometimes even topographical data that specifies the slope of the terrain.

Floor plan

A floor plan is an overhead view of the completed house. On the plan, you will see parallel lines that scale at whatever width the walls are required to be. Dimensions are usually drawn between the walls to specify room sizes and wall lengths. Floor plans will also indicate rooms, all the doors and windows and any built-in elements, such as plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, furnishers, rooflines, floor levels Text and Keys etc. Floor plans will include notes to specify finishes, construction methods, or symbols for electrical items.

Elevations

Elevations are a non-perspective view of the home. These are drawn to scale so that measurements can be taken for any aspect necessary. Plans include a front, rear and both side elevations. The elevations specify ridge heights, the positioning of the final fall of the land, exterior finishes, roof pitches and other details that are necessary to give the home it’s exterior architectural styling.

Section

A section cuts through the dwelling and the location of this ‘cut through’ is noted on the floor plan. It describes how the building will be constructed and discusses how the internal finishes are to look. Sections are used because they explain certain conditions in more detail. These conditions may include ceiling height, ceiling type (flat or vault), and window and door dimensions.

Foundation plan

Foundation plan In engineering, a foundation is the element of a structure which connects it to the ground and transfers loads from the structure to the ground. Foundations are generally considered either shallow or deep. Foundation engineering is the application of soil mechanics and rock mechanics (Geotechnical engineering) in the design of foundation elements of structures.

Roof plans

Roof plans including type, pitch and framing. Interior elevation drawings (interior walls). Detail drawings, such as built-in shelving, mouldings, and columns. Schedules for elements such as windows and doors. Structural layouts.

Electrical and telecoms drawings

Electrical and telecoms drawings show locations of all the outlets, TV sockets, switches and fixtures. Also indicates Roof plans including type, pitch and framing. Interior elevation drawings (interior walls). Detail drawings, such as built-in shelving, mouldings, and columns. Schedules for elements such as windows and doors. Structural layouts. which switches operate which lights, and where the electric lines should be run.

Plumbing drawing

A plumbing drawing a type of technical drawing, shows the system of piping for freshwater going into the building and waste going out, both solid and liquid. It also includes fuel gas drawings. Mainly Plumbing drawing: consist of water supply system drawings, drainage system drawings, irrigation system drawings, stormwater system drawings. In water supply system drawing there will be hot water piping and cold water piping and hot water return piping also. In drainage system drawings there will be waste piping, Soil piping and vent piping. The set of drawing of each system like water supply, drainage etc. is consist of Plans, Riser diagram, Installation details, Legends, Notes. Every pipe should be marked with pipe sizes. If the drawing is detailed, fixture units also should be marked along with the pipe. If it is shop drawing, sections also should be shown where their pipes are crossing. In shop drawings pipe sizes should be marked with the text and size should be shown with a double line. Each pipe with different purposes will be displayed with different colours for ease of understanding. Drainage pipes should be shown with slope. For water supply, pump capacity and several pumps will be attached as drawing file. For drainage, manhole schedule which consists of each manhole name, Invert level, Cover level, Depth is also attached as drawing file.
